Hosted by the Pennsylvania Pain Society, in collaboration with the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society and Rothman Orthopaedic Institute Foundation for Opioid Research which is the recipient of a grant funded by the Appalachian Regional Commission

In order to renew their license, physicians and other health care providers licensed in the state of Pennsylvania that prescribe and/or dispense opioids are required to complete two hours of education in either:

Pain management, or

Identification of addiction, or

Safe opioid prescribing practices for prescribers/
Safe opioid dispensing practices for dispensers



For physicians seeking a Pennsylvania medical license for the first time, completion of:
2 hours of education in pain management or identification of addiction
AND
At least 2 hours of education in safe opioid prescribing
